President’s Report

The directors and officers of Katy American Little League hope that all of you have enjoyed a happy and healthy start to this New Year and once again we welcome you to another exciting season!  Our spring season is just around the corner. We at KALL have already been hard at work getting ready for another exciting year of Little League baseball. 

 

For 2011, Katy American is making some significant improvements and renovations to our fields. Work has been in progress for some time now to prepare for this spring season.  Again as last year, we are asking for your help — labor or money or both are equally welcome and needed!

 

Premium “base-mix” dirt, exactly as used by the MLB Astros, is being applied to the infields. Pitching mounds are being totally rebuilt from below ground up.  We’re adding crushed granite walking paths in front of the dugouts.  Our “bullpens” are being fixed up to give the pitchers a better place to warm-up for their big games.

Little League National has issued a moratorium on Composite bats!  Please have your child’s composite bat checked out with our league prior to the beginning of the season to ensure it can be used in Little League play.  You can get more information regarding this bat moratorium at the following link: http://www.katyamerican.org/LittleLeagueBatMoratorium.aspx.

 

REMEMBER:  Please check our website (www.katyamerican.org) for the latest updates and announcements. Our official “Opening Day” this year will be Saturday, March 26. All games on Opening Day will start at 10:00 AM and the last game will begin at 4:00 PM.
